Ruaha National Park

Crossed by the important Ruaha River, it extends partially to the Great Rift Valley, and offers a rich variety of both flora and fauna. Ruaha is home to the antelope, the dik-dik, the kudu, a large number of elephants (about 12,000 specimens), enormous herds of buffalo, the crocodile, and the hippopotamus. It is not lacking in predators, however, such as lions and leopards, though to a lesser degree than in the Serengeti.
